This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. This position requires immunization screening. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. You may be required to show proof of other immunizations. Are you willing and able to undergo immunization screening and/or show proof of other immunizations?

The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. Determine the substance or pharmaceutical requested including the form, strength, and dosage for distribution.
3.
Prepare labels for outgoing prescription packages.
4.
Order pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or supplies from approved sources to support stock level requirements.
5.
Dispense pharmaceuticals, supplies, or controlled substances in accordance with policies and procedures.
6.
Follow medication orders or instructions as written to ensure patient safety.
7.
Prepare package labels for outgoing prescriptions to verify correct medications are issued to patient.
8.
Review patient profiles for allergies or harmful drug or dietary interactions to alert the Pharmacist or healthcare provider.
9.
Assemble and package drugs or supplies for distribution to wards, outpatient clinics, or affiliated services.
10.
Work with prescriber or Pharmacist to clarify issues or problems noted with dosing, interactions, or instructions.
11.
Answer questions from team members on pharmacy procedures, policies, or directives.
12.
Assist management by maintaining inventory, stock control, accounting for pharmaceuticals, and preparing associated reports.
13.
Determine daily pharmaceutical ordering needs by managing stock.
14.
Answer routine inquiries from medical staff concerning orders or availability of pharmaceuticals or supplies.
15.
Observe current Pharmacy standard operating procedures to ensure patient safety.
16.
Prepare bulk or quantity issuances of pharmaceuticals for clinics or wards to ensure they have the proper stock levels.
17.
Enter medication orders into a health care computer system to update records.
