Land Management Law Enforcement Officers positions are required to undergo a comprehensive background investigation which includes contacts with all references, employers, co-workers, close personal associates, etc and review of driving record, credit history, criminal history and service in the military and receive clearance by the Fish and Wildlife Security Officer prior to appointment to this Land Management Law Enforcement Officers position. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required prior to appointment to pass a medical examination, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's (FLETC), Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) test, and a psychological screen. Condition of Employment: Incumbent must successfully complete the Land Management Police Training (LMP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (or equivalent). Incumbent must successfully complete 40 hours of in-service training annually.

All applicants will be required to complete the Land Management Police Training (LMPT) academy (up to 18 weeks) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), and Federal Wildlife Officer Basic Training (FWOBT) at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC - up to 4 weeks). Upon completion of LMPT and ROBS, officers will also be required to complete the (up to 12 weeks) Field Training Evaluation Program (FTEP). Applicants will be terminated if they fail to successfully complete all training courses and/or meet the requirements.
