Report any discrepancies to activities and units handling, storing, and using hazardous substances and notifies regulators and senior leaders as required.
3.
Prepare reports for regulatory agencies on reportable spills.
4.
Issue notices of non-compliance to activities/units.
5.
Prepare a written narrative report of findings citing specific legal and regulatory references that have been violated and what is required to bring the operation back into compliance.
6.
Prepares documentation and applications for Federal and state permits dealing with air emissions generated at the installation.
7.
Provide environmental guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance with state and Federal regulatory requirements.
8.
Respond telephonically or on-site to specific inquiries from units/activities regarding topics such as handling of hazardous waste, spills, recycling, water and air quality, solid waste management, asbestos, radon, PCB's, and underground storage tanks.
9.
Conduct activity briefings and hazardous waste training coordination.
10.
Coordinate with contractors and other employees on implementation of any approved work.
11.
Provide guidance to upper echelon and other professionals on the implementation of new policies resulting from regulatory changes.
12.
Provide input to assist in preparing long and short-range inspection calendars, operational plans, and accomplishment of goals.
13.
Maintain information files (inspection, schedule, results, etc.) to facilitate effective program management.
14.
Establish project priorities, compliance reporting requirements, and office policies/procedures.
