Almost all diving activity will be undertaken under the OSHA Scientific Diving Exemption from Commercial Diving Standards (29 CFR 1910 Sub-Part T). Incumbent must document formal training and certification in scientific diving operations and safety procedures in accordance with the standards of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). Certification of training must be provided by an organization in good standing with AAUS. Incumbent will be expected to engage in diving operations, classified by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) as hazardous duty. Incumbent must be a certified scuba diver and be able to meet the training and diving certification requirements of RM-4 (NPS Operational Diving). (limit characters)
