This section will be used to determine if you possess the experience or training needed to qualify for a Food Service Worker, WG-7408-04. Failure to respond to this question will result in an ineligible rating.

From the descriptions below, choose the one letter beside the statement that best describes the highest level of experience and/or training that you possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of a Food Service Worker, WG-04 level, without more than normal supervision. SELECT ONLY ONE LETTER. NOTE: YOUR RESUME MUST SUPPORT THE RESPONSE YOU SELECT.
Select the one statement that most accurately describes your training and experience carrying out each task using the scale provided.

Provide patients with basic information about modified diets such as food limitations or substitutions (e.g. low sodium and diabetic diets).

Prepare formulas and other supplemental and special feedings.
4.
Load and deliver trays/food carts to patients and retrieve/return trays.
5.
Follow special feeding and sterilization/sanitation requirements.
6.
Distribute special/supplemental feeding properly and promptly.
7.
Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients according to standardized recipes
8.
Make conversions from metric system to the U.S. Standard system.
9.
Make final check of diet trays assembled by lower level workers for completeness, correct food temperature, and diet requirements.
10.
Assist in the preparation of desserts, salads, sandwiches, etc.
11.
Conduct daily patient census by distributing and collecting patient menus.
12.
Perform cashier/checker duties.
13.
Prepare uncooked food items such as sandwich spreads and salad dressings.
14.
Assemble, label, and arrange recipe items for use by cooks.
15.
Perform a variety of simple cooking tasks in the kitchen following standardized recipes and cooking techniques.
16.
Operate kitchen equipment such as food processor, grill, mixer, slicing machines and toasters.
17.
Set up or oversee set up of assigned stations on patient tray line for regular and therapeutic diets.
18.
Use and assure proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.
19.
Use kitchen tools and operate equipment in a safe manner, applying safety and sanitation rules and regulations.
20.
Operate mechanical dishwasher
21.
Inform supervisor of accidents and/or damage to supplies or equipment or of any observed unsafe practices and/or procedures.
22.
Promptly dispose of garbage/trash in accordance with established protocols.
