Eligibilities
1. Do you claim Veterans' Preference? (limit characters)
2. Current DOD Appropriated Fund Employee.  To be eligible under the AF-to-NAF Interchange Agreement, you must be currently serving in a DOD APF position without time limits and have been continuously employed with DOD APF for the past year. APF employees who are employed with Departments/Agencies not affiliated with the Department of Defense are not eligible for this preference category. 

Required Documentation:  You must submit two SF-50s, 1) your most recent SF-50 (other than an award SF-50) and 2) one that is at least one year old than your most recent SF-50, which demonstrates you have been continuously employed for one year.

3. Current or Former NAF Employee.  To be eligible, you must be currently employed, or formerly employed, by any DOD NAFI.  This does not include emergency hire FLEX service.

Required Documentation:  A copy of your most recent DA Form 3434 (or equivalent) must be provided to verify your claim.

4. DOD BBA NAF Employee.  To be eligible, you must have been separated as a result of a Business Based Action.  This priority consideration is authorized for up to one year from separation. This priority is separate and apart from the Reemployment Priority List (RPL) priority placement program.

Required Documentation:  The DA Form 3434, Separation - Business Based Action (or equivalent).

5. Involuntarily Separated Military Preference.  This preference is open to certain members of the Armed Services, and dependents thereof, who were involuntarily separated from active duty with an honorable or general under honorable conditions discharge, are entitled to preference in hiring for a period of 1 year after separation. The preference must be claimed at time of application. An individual is entitled to this preference in hiring only one time. The preference is terminated upon placement in, or declination of, a NAF position for which application was made.

Required Documentation:  A DD-214 Member 4 or DD-214 Service 2 (or equivalent) copy needs to be provided and/or a Military and Civilian identification cards bearing the over stamp Transition Assistance (TA).

6. Outside Applicant Non-Veteran.  This selection category applies to anyone who does not meet any other criteria listed above or below.  This includes APF applicants employed with non-DOD Departments/Agencies. 
If you do not meet any other eligibility, you must select "YES" to this or you will be screened out and your application will not be considered. If you are unsure if you meet any other criteria, skip this question and come back to it before moving on tot he next page.

7. Outside Applicant Veteran.  This selection category is for applicants who meet the definition of "preference eligible" Veteran. 

Required Documentation:  A copy of your DD Form 214, Member-4 copy; DD Form 214, Service-2 copy (or equivalent); or for applicants who are CURRENTLY serving on active duty, a statement of service from your unit which states the date you entered on active duty, the date you begin terminal leave, the date you are separating, the anticipated characterization of discharge, and the campaign medals, if applicable, you were awarded.

8. Spouse Employment Preference.  This preference is open to spouses of active duty service members who relocate to the duty station with their service member spouse.  The marriage must have occurred prior to the service member reporting to the new duty station.

A spouse is defined as the wife or husband of an active duty military member of the Armed Forces, including the Coast Guard, and a member of the National Guard or Reserves on active duty. The Marriage must have occurred prior to the service member's relocation to the new duty station. An eligible spouse must request consideration at the time of application - click "yes" below indicates a request for consideration.  Eligibility time period begins 30 days before the military's sponsor's reporting date at the new duty location and continues during the entire tour, or until acceptance or declination of a position offer (NAF or APF) at the grade for which preference has been requested.  Preference is also terminated on placement into any continuing position (NAF or APF), or one expected to continue for at least 1 year in the new duty location, whether or not preference was applied.  This preference is only honored for the new duty location and any other installation within the commuting area.

Required Documentation:  Sponsor's PCS Orders, including all amendments, which reflect the spouse's name.

4. This position requires the incumbent to be able to pass a swim test prior to beginning the Lifeguard Certification course as a condition of employment. The swim test includes:
  1. Must be able to pass the Lifeguard Pre-requisite swim test which includes:
  2. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
  4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds
  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
  • Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
  • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates should not swim the distance under water.
  • Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
