Operate motor vehicles in close quarters without damaging equipment.

Operate motor vehicles off of highway to complete assignments.

Recover broken down vehicles off of highway to bring them to facility for repair.

Operate motor vehicles on steep slopes to maintain bank stability.

Place riprap on steep slopes to avoid rollover.

Secure loads while insuring that correct permits are obtained for oversized loads prior to transporting.

Identify means for placing dredge material in spoil sites to maximize the amount of materials being stored at these locations.

Read equipment manufacturer's operating manuals to instruct others on how to follow the manufacturer's instructions on equipment maintenance and/or operation

Drive motor vehicles while being aware of all surroundings to prevent accidents.

Follow policy in regards to the operation of motor vehicles to ensure safety.

Operate bulldozers to perform tasks such as: precisely grade and/or slope shorelines, place riprap, cut and fill, clear brush, and remove trees.
15.
Operate excavators on steep slopes, at and near the water's edge, to maintain bank stability and/or prevent erosion.
16.
Select from a wide variety of tools and/or equipment to repair many types of heavy equipment including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
17.
Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as changing engine oil and filters, hydraulic oil and filters, transmission oil and filters, and greasing attachments.
18.
Assist mechanics in making complicated repairs to machinery such as making adjustments, disassembling and reassembling machines, packing pumps, replacing worn parts, cleaning parts, and assisting in emergency repairs.
