This includes: Career/Career Conditional or Excepted Service (i.e. Canteen, Hybrid, Title 38, etc. and meets interchange agreement requirements). This does not include temporary, term or temporary intermittent.

To verify your eligibility, you must submit a copy of your most recent Notification of Personnel Action, Standard Form 50 (SF-50).  Your SF-50 must include enough information to be able to determine that time-in-grade requirements have been met (if applicable) and include your position title, pay plan/series/grade, tenure and the type of appointment (i.e. Competitive or Excepted).  Please be aware that award SF-50's do not always include this pertinent information.

Administrative Support duties such as answering phone calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, typing, filing, sorting and distributing mail, handling office documents and maintaining appointments.

Data maintenance: Use of a web-based data management program preparing data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities. Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data. Audits system for accuracy of data entered, Secures information by completing data base backups, Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

Oral Communication: Establish regular communication with the new employee. Provide clear expectations, direction, coaching, and performance feedback. Connect the new employee with key information, resources, and people within the organization.

Written Communication: Preparing documents for review, use of good grammar and limited typos, organizing the details into a logical order, proof reading documents.

6. Writing Sample - A great deal of the work performed by the Human Resources Assistant requires written communication to internal and external customers.
