Interpret legal descriptions incident to land surveys.
4.
Identify and recommend solutions to disputes involving rectangular public land surveys, patent mining claims, homestead entry surveys, easements, etc.

Plan and direct survey projects of a complex nature usually associated with boundary disputes or title claim cases, but can also include high-order geodetic surveys, rights-of-way and easements, and engineering surveys.
6.
Ensure all surveys follow all State and Federal regulations, standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
7.
Consult with Registrar of Deeds, County Surveyors, other Registered Land Surveyors, property owners, Government Officials, and other sources for record information of previous surveys or other data.
8.
Evaluate records for field use in land survey activities.
9.
Provide survey data to Regional Office staffs, engineering units, survey crews, etc.
10.
Establish and maintain unit survey files including U.S. General Land office plats and field notes.
11.
Write legal descriptions and prepares plats and other documents incident to land surveys.
12.
Tabulate records for field use in land survey activities
13.
Provide professional land surveying input for the planning and programming of land surveying priorities.
14.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to unit management and staff personnel on problems involving boundary disputes.
15.
Conduct land surveys in support of Natural Resource management.
16.
Inspect for compliance with technical engineering and/or contractual requirements in accordance with associated directives and guidelines.
17.
Recommend approval of final payment upon completion of contract.
18.
Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative on survey projects formally contracted to private firms, prepares specifications, and/or reviews surveying contracts for the unit.
19.
Negotiate with private and/or public organizations for contract compliance.
