Conduct stream channel habitat monitoring using methods developed by the USFS, USGS, and/or NPS.

Perform studies related to fluvial geomorphology, limnology, and/or aquatic ecology.

Identify and interpret geomorphic surfaces such as bankfull, floodplains, and channel full in highly altered systems such as those found in the Piedmont region of the Southeast United States.

Develop and implement protocols and standard operating procedures.
8.
Work with and train diverse technical and non-technical partners in the implementation of aquatic monitoring methods.
9.
Follow detailed standard operating procedures, train others to accurately follow procedures, and recognize departures from established quality control/quality assurance guidelines.
10.
Use field and remotely sensed data collection to evaluate natural community and ecosystem dynamics.
11.
Use and troubleshoot standard stream surveying equipment (Trimble Total Station, GPS units, range finders, tools, cameras).
12.
Provide field support for ground water and water quality monitoring activities.
13.
Recognize gaps or inconsistencies in data and reports; evaluates and compares previous records to develop the necessary changes to correct problems.
14.
Enter data and implement quality assurance/quality control procedures across a variety of software (e.g., SharePoint, MS Excel, R).
15.
Organize paper and electronic records according to established protocols.
16.
Check and reduce data to be used for computer modeling and statistical analysis.
17.
Conduct basic statistical analyses.

Use ArcGIS to create maps and conduct analysis using remotely sensed data.
