Thank you for your interest in a WG-5306-10 Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic position with the Department of the Army. 1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, WG-5306-10 duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex duties associated with installing and repairing large systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions. I am skilled in (1) installing and repairing a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and-air conditioning units and systems, (2) installing and repairing large and complex heating units and systems composed of high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, (3) diagnosing the cause of faulty air conditioning and heating equipment, (4) making complete repairs to complex equipment such as super heaters, pre-heaters, economizers, feed water regulators, pollution control devices, generators, and steam turbines, and (5) replacing, dismantling, disassembling, and/or reassembling large valves, feed water regulators, transformers, motors, and electrodes. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of duties associated with installing and repairing large systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions. I am skilled in (1) installing and repairing a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and-air conditioning units and systems, (2) installing and repairing large and complex heating units and systems composed of high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, (3) diagnosing the cause of faulty air conditioning and heating equipment, and (4) making complete repairs to complex equipment such as super heaters, pre-heaters, economizers, feed water regulators, pollution control devices, generators, and steam turbines. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform common duties associated with installing and repairing large systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions. I can (1) install and repair a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and-air conditioning units and systems, (2) install and repair large and complex heating units and systems composed of high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, and (3) diagnose the cause of faulty air conditioning and heating equipment. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple duties associated with installing and repairing systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions, or I have received training on the maintenance of basic components of air conditioning equipment.

E. I do not possess the abilities described above.
