Serve as a chairperson on safety committees and subcommittees.

Serve as a contact person for vendor(s) under contract for hazardous waste disposal.

Review chemical hygiene plans developed for an organization.

Develop response plans for chemical spills, and safety related emergencies for an organization.

Coordinate with organizations to ensure health and safety of all employees using radioactive materials and equipment.
7.
Develop and manage the packaging and disposal of hazardous waste.
8.
Ensure chemical inventories are accurately maintained by each user.
9.
Organize and maintain material safety data sheets collection for all chemicals in use.
10.
Review safety information from regulations.
11.
Maintain documentation/record of all safety-related matters to assure compliance with state and federal regulations.
12.
Participate in annual safety inspections, and intermittently inspect offices and laboratories to avoid accidents and injuries.
13.
Analyze findings and make recommendations to location management concerning needed safety actions.
14.
Analyze accident and injury reports in order to discover trends and mishap causes.
