Thank you for your interest in an Explosives Operator position with the Department of the Army. We will evaluate your resume and your responses to this Occupational Questionnaire to determine if you are among the best qualified for this position. Your responses are subject to verification. 1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Explosives Operator Leader duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Explosives Operator duties. I am skilled in apply a good working knowledge of most machines used in explosives operations, and ability to make adjustments to machine controls to assure quality products. I exercise extreme care in performing refusing or fusing of any explosives, cartridges, rockets, mortars, grenades and other types of high explosive ammunition to prevent accidents or explosions which could result in serious injury or loss of life to himself or co-workers. Receive and inspect such material as all calibers of ammunition. I operate washout units to remove explosives, they operate valves to regulate temperature and pressure of steam or hot water at the cleaning jets, and control flow of explosives through settling tanks. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of Explosives Operator duties. I am skilled in performing modification and maintenance of items by disassembling as necessary to remove obsolete, deteriorated, damaged, contaminated and other components. I examine all munitions and components at assigned workstations to determine degree of serviceability. I replace parts, components, fillers and packing material. Reassemble into complete items. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform common Explosives Operator duties, such as perform duties related to the regular operation of a number of automatic machines and equipment to perform a number of assembly/disassembly operations on explosives. I complete work cycle of renovation, demilitarization, reloading, modification and maintenance to a wide variety of conventional and chemical ammunition and components, which involve high explosives, and chemical munitions. I assure that all operating parameters are met. I must be able to quickly recognize improper functioning of machine to avoid damage. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple Explosives Operator duties or I have received training on understand the mission of the job or assignments, but, any questions with regards to organizing manpower or tools require me to seek higher level assistance/guidance.
