The following questions pertain to the experience needed for the GS 14 Pharmacist position.

The assignment for this Pharmacist position is: VISN Program Manager.
Responsible for the management of national or VISN level programs. These programs include collaboration with other Federal agencies (e.g., National Institutes of Health, Public Health Service, Department of Defense, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control, etc.) or organizations outside the Federal health care system. Programs of this magnitude are directed by VA Central Office or a VISN.

8. GS-14 REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the GS-13 requirements, you must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level which include but not limited to:
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to persuade and influence clinical and management decisions; Expert understanding of regulatory and quality standards for their program area; Ability to solve problems, coordinate and organize responsibilities to maximize outcomes in their program area or area of clinical expertise; Expert knowledge of a specialized area of clinical pharmacy practice or specialty area of pharmacy; and Advanced skill in monitoring and assessing the outcome of drug therapies, including physical assessment and interpretation of laboratory and other diagnostic parameters. Demonstrated skill in and experience making recommendations and/or implementing program changes based on qualitative and quantitative input. Utilizes information and data systems to perform necessary functions (e.g. preparing reports, informing presentations and talking points, etc.) and in-depth experience using existing VHA data.

1. Skill in persuading others and gaining cooperation to accomplish goals.
2. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing regarding complex clinical and technical issues.

10. Grade 14 Requirement:

To be eligible for the Grade 14 you must have served 52 weeks at the Grade 13 level.
A SF50 must be uploaded as proof that you have served one year as a GS 13 Pharmacist.
