To qualify for the GS-05 grade level, the applicant must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or very closely related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience, but not limited to: using equipment, materials and supplies in simple diagnostic and treatment procedures such as bladder scan, continuous passive motion device, blood glucose monitoring machine, specimen collection, etc.; observing patients/residents' or resident's physical or emotional status and refer deviations and/or problems to supervisor in a timely manner; providing a range of patient/resident care and contribute to the completion of the nurse care plan and recovery of patients/residents.

MERIT PROMOTION DOCUMENTATION REMINDER
If you are a current or former Federal employee, you must provide a copy of your last or most recent SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action." The SF-50 must identify your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). If you have previously held a higher grade and are applying based on that grade, you must provide a copy of the SF-50 showing you held the higher grade IN ADDITION to your last or most recent SF-50 indicating proof of status.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE DOCUMENTATION REMINDER
In order to receive appropriate consideration, you must submit proper documentation if you are claiming eligibility for veteran's preference, which includes a copy of your DD-214 (member copy 4 or earlier version that shows character of service). Applicant's claiming 10-Point preference should also submit an SF-15, Application for 10-Point Veteran's Preference along with the required documentation listed on the SF-15 form (such as verification of service-connected disability percentage).
