This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. Are you willing to undergo pre-employment and recurring investigations to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance as required?

The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. Are you willing and able to travel away from your permanent duty station up to 25% of the time?

This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 24 months of entrance on duty. The certification completion timeframe may change from 24 months to 60 months upon approval of the DoDI 5000.66.

The NH-04 band is equal to the GS-14 step 1 though GS-15 step 10. This position is subject to the NH-04 Non-Supervisory Professional / Evaluator /Tester / Analyst control point of the AATEC Control Point Policy at $125,484 per year plus locality pay.

Minimum Eligibility Requirement - Certificate - Applicants must possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates and/or appropriate military rating to meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Do you possess current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificate with commercial or higher with the following privileges: multi engine airplane, instrument airplane and commercial helicopter, instrument helicopter or equivalent military ratings?

Minimum Eligibility Requirement - Medical certificate - This position has a medical requirement for all Test Pilot Flight Instructor positions. Applicants must possess current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) medical certificate, Second Class or military equivalent in order to meet the intent of the requirement.

Minimum Eligibility Requirement - Military experimental test pilot school graduate. Applicants must be the graduate of a military experimental test pilot school. Acceptable test pilot schools include U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School (USAFTPS), Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS), and Ecole du Personnel Navigant d' Essais et de Reception (EPNER). Attendance to one or more "short courses," at these schools do not meet this eligibility requirement. On the job training does not meet this eligibility requirement.

Minimum Eligibility Requirement - Flight Experience
(Note: The Command is in the process of requesting approval to waive and/or modify the OPM Qualifications Standard for the 2181 Occupational series which may impact the minimum eligibility requirements for this position. Until approval is granted, the minimum eligibility requirements listed below apply).
Flight Experience - This position requires specialized flight experience. Applicants for this position must meet certain minimum flight hour requirements, including recent flight experience due to the hazardous nature of our operations. Minimum (IOR) individual occupational requirements are: 1). Total flight time 1750 hours, 2). Pilot in command 1150 hours, 3). Instructor Time 500 hours, 4). Night flying 75 hours and 5). Heavy multi-engine airplane/heavy helicopter 500 hours (heavy is defined as gross takeoff weight in excess of 12,500 pounds), 6). 75 instrument hours and 7). 100 hours of flying time in the last 12 months (Can be achieved in either fixed wing or rotary wing).
