1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Welder duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have demonstrated independently the ability to do the following: fabrication on a maritime vessel using all types of metal and alloy parts, equipment and components. I have used experimental or new metals to modify or establish new welding processes and procedures to meet new installations and effect repairs. My welds have met the critical tolerances and high standards of destructive and non-destructive testing.

B. I have demonstrated the ability to do the following; perform work from inception to completion in the duties associated with job order work assignments on a maritime vessel. I have demonstrated the ability to plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions; do horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding; weld in close quarters, use measuring devices such as confined atmosphere testers and metal thickness testers.

C. I have the ability to: complete the accomplishment of work assignments on a maritime vessel such as welding/burning related processes including manual, automatic, electric, arc/inert, gas shielded, gas torch or similar welding processes to repair, modify or fabricate equipment. I also have the ability to work with white iron casting and anti/abrasive epoxy. I am familiar with the Industry Standards of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) welding requirements.

D. I have knowledge of the various areas and responsibilities of a Welder.

E. I am unable to perform the duties of an Welder.
