Works with scientists in developing, coordinating, and leading annual field tours, special tours, and workshops.

Responds to requests for information concerning research/technology in specific areas that typically require considerable analysis to determine the specific research area/technology and the types of information that will most directly meet the requester's needs.

Distributes technology transfer products to the appropriate federal, state, and regional officials, including other USDA agencies, universities, producer groups, and producers.

Develops and maintains engagement with stakeholders, including producers and agricultural support groups to determine current and potential future needs within the agricultural community and providing information during research planning meetings to the research unit so that timely and appropriate research can be conducted.

Conducts outreach activities using printed, electronic, multimedia, and virtual platforms to communicate research outcomes and demonstrate technology related to pertinent scientific projects specific to the laboratory, including workshops, seminars, and conferences.
7.
Documents the impact and effectiveness of communications and technology transfer products.
8.
Assists in the organization and implementation of semiannual meetings such as the Customer Focus Group and Area IV SCD Research Farm meetings.
9.
Collects all necessary materials identified for inclusion in technology transfer products, guided by USDA, ARS and other government laws and policies regarding the legal use of such materials, including copyright and author permissions.
10.
Actively engages in and documents research activities to facilitate effective communication of these activities to stakeholders and customers.
11.
Participate in long range and short-range planning sessions to determine program changes in the preparation of evaluation reports on the status of current resources related to animal welfare and recommends actions for developmental activities.
12.
Utilizes emerging media formats and technology, and designs and develops communication products to most effectively deliver research information to stakeholders and customers.
13.
Works with scientists and ARS Office of Communications to develop information products highlighting Research Units research for dissemination through print, broadcast, or online media.
