Are you a current Farm Production and Conservation (Farm Production and Conservation Business Center, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency and Risk Management Agency) employee who currently holds a career or career conditional appointment?

Are you a current USDA employee who meets the definition of a "surplus" or "displaced" employee, in which received official notice that your job is no longer needed or that you will lose your job by Reduction-in-Force (RIF)? If yes, confirm:
• you are located in the same local commuting area as the vacancy; AND,

Provide technical leadership and direction to various stakeholders that are responsible for advising and consulting field level customers, both internal and external, on natural resource conservation management systems.

Develop and implement integrated operational plans, finances, and technical support that are all tied to the agency's performance objectives.

Ensure that executive orders, laws, and regulations relating to agriculture and conservation are observed and carried out in accordance with the law.

Collaborate across multiple disciplines providing insight on the link between soil health, climate mitigation, water quality, and other agricultural and forest resource challenges.
11.
Represent the agency as the soil health expert and consultant, highlighting soil health potential and encouraging collaborative efforts with consistent messaging that addresses natural resource issues and impediments.
12.
Provide high level representation to professional conservation organizations and societies.
13.
Responsible for quality assurance related to assigned technical and scientific activities ensuring adherence to policy, standards, and procedures.
14.
Provide expertise and leadership in natural resource conservation management systems to make ecological improvements and provide healthy soils for all agricultural related land uses.
15.
Recommend and implement appropriate conservation measures, adjustments, or practices to ensure maximum implementation efficiencies for a conservation project or program.
16.
Prepare reports and publications regarding the implementation, analysis and evaluation of the Agency's overall efforts related to soil health or other natural conservation management areas.
17.
Provide leadership for identification of research and demonstration needs in natural resource conservation programs to address scientific and technological gaps, emerging programs and strategic plans, goals and outcomes.
18.
Complete scientific literature reviews and stay current with scientific research and developments, and disseminates applicable science for incorporation into NRCS's 9-step conservation planning process.
