Have one (1) year of education above the high school level in any field of study obtained from an accredited junior college, college, university, business, secretarial or technical school. This means at least thirty (30) college semester/ forty-five (45) college quarter hours of education or 20 hours of formal classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school equaling 720 hours. Completion of an intensive, specialized course of study of less than one (1) year may also meet these requirements. This would normally require completion of up to 40 hours per week of instruction for at least 3 months duration, and may have been obtained through a variety of programs such as those offered by business or technical schools, and through military training programs. Have an equivalent amount of combined education and experience. The equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total requirements.
All experience must demonstrate progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular competencies needed to perform the duties of this position. This may be paid or non-paid experience.
