1.
Experience in performing the duties of a Lineman without more than normal supervision is defined as performing construction and maintenance work, including hot line maintenance on either wood pole or steel tower lines, excavations and footings, framing and erecting towers and poles, hanging insulators, and hardware, and stringing, sagging, and clipping conductor. Perform right-of-way maintenance work such as brush and weed control, cutting or topping danger trees, seeding cover crops for erosion control.

Inspect conductor hardware and make repairs to missing, defective, loose, or corroded hardware.

Install, modify, and replace conductor suspension hardware or member components on wood poles or steel towers on distribution or transmission lines.

Read circuit diagrams and perform troubleshooting layout, and complete installation, modification, and repair on high voltage transmission or distribution systems such as repairing insulators, cross arms, braces, or other hardware and locating defects in conductors.

Ability to read one line diagrams to ensure proper sectionalizing and isolation of line segments.
12.
Use hot-line tools and protective equipment such as wire tongs, wire tong supports, insulated tension links, tie sticks, insulated hoods/covers and tools, and rubber gloves, sleeves, and insulating blankets.
13.
Measure electrical current and voltage by using ammeters and volt meters to ensure that transmission or distribution hardware or equipment's voltage status is safe to work on.
14.
Troubleshoot overhead and underground circuits to locate shorts, opens and grounds.
15.
Troubleshoot and repair of high voltage transmission or distribution systems, such as repairing switch gear, installing and hooking up pad mounted or pole mounted transformers or selecting materials to make installations or repairs.
