INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  This occupation requires specific educational requirements be met. These basic educational requirements must be documented AND supported by submitting legible transcripts. This requirement is in addition to specialized experience requirements.  This position requires a master's degree in either rehabilitation counseling or a related field with an emphasis in vocational rehabilitation counseling. Your degree program must have included a supervised internship in vocational rehabilitation counseling. For programs without the required internship, you may substitute one year of post-degree work delivering vocational rehabilitation services to adults with disabilities in rehabilitation programs (other than those in correctional facilities).  (LEGIBLE COPY OF MASTER'S TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED - If you do not submit a copy of your transcript, your application will not be considered.) 6. Do you possess a Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, including a supervised internship; OR a Master's degree in counseling psychology or a related field, including 30 semester hours of course work in such areas as foundations of rehabilitation counseling, human growth and development, counseling theories and techniques, vocational assessment, career development, job placement, case management and medical/psycho-social aspects of disability. Total graduate study must have included or been supplement by a supervised internship. (For Master's degree programs without a supervised internship, substitution of successful professional experience ***following completion of your degree*** must be one full year in direct delivery of vocational rehabilitation services to adults with disabilities in rehabilitation programs, other than those in correctional facilities.) Do you have one full year, or more, of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level that has provided comprehensive knowledge of VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) Program. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided a technical knowledge of applicable laws affecting Veterans' testing and evaluation, rehabilitation, job development and job placement and full and complete knowledge of Chapters 18, 30, 31, 34, and 35 of Title 38, USC. Documented specialized experience will illustrate conducting, administering and advising in areas of education, training, counseling, and psychology affecting the entire field of VA's vocational rehabilitation and employment programs.
