SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Make field observations of landscape and natural resource conditions

Evaluate observed conditions and problems identified, and make preliminary determination on the cause of problems noted.

Collect and record data on exotic and other plants (such as forbs, grasses, shrubs, trees).

Collect and record data on animals to include endangered or protected species.
6.
Summarize findings in reports, plans, guidelines, or other written materials associated with the work.

Identify plants, use plant keys, and noxious weeds using knowledge of plant taxonomy.

Use Global Positions System (GPS) units, such as Garmin, Trimble GPS, Terrasync, or similar equipment for navigation and data collection; manage the GPS data within a GIS system.

Prepare project reports by creating spreadsheets and/or databases for the input of natural resource and scientific data

Use standard esri-based GIS software to organize and analyze field data, and prepare maps
15.
Compile, reduce, store, retrieve, analyze, and report data and other resource management information for natural science research and landscape preservation projects.
16.
Inventory and maintain equipment for field work in natural resource areas (evaluate quality assurance compliance of data collected, and calibrate equipment as necessary).
17.
Perform wildlife inventory and monitoring activities, record the data collected and provide preliminary assessment and classification of the information.
18.
Identify local wild species (birds, turtles, large animal, etc.), associated habitats distinguishing age and sex classes.
19.
Identify sign (tracks, scat, feeding, etc.) of wild animals
20.
Collect blood and/or tissue samples of wild animals for disease monitoring utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of exposure to wildlife diseases when handling wildlife species.

Perform invasive species and predator management
22.
Provide logistical support and area orientation for seasonal employees, volunteers, contractors, and cooperating scientists conducting field work.

Provide information to the public about resource management and landscape preservation topics to answer questions or inform them.
