1. TIME-IN-GRADE RESTRICTION: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. These applicants must have held the GS-7 grade for a year (or higher grade) to meet this requirement for the GS-9 level of this vacancy. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service.

2. For Specialized Experience at GS-09: Do you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience, which equips you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the GOVERNEMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST, GS-09 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled? To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service to qualify at the grade 09.

Examples of specialized experience include:
1) Responsible for planning, designing, implementing and maintaining appropriate and effective Privacy and Freedom Information policies and procedures
2) Serves as a liaison with the facility staff ensuring information is disseminated to appropriate areas and employees are adhering to mandates from regulatory agencies.
3) Relationship Management- maintains a strong and consistent focus on privacy and Freedom Information Act.
4) Develops facility-specific privacy and FOIA training materials.
5) Prepare and respond to correspondence, distribute information, review facility processes and products for compliance with FOIA program requirements.

Note: Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held on your resume. You must provide work experience information such as hours per week, salary, and starting/ending dates of employment (month and year format) to establish you have one (1) full year of Specialized Experience at or comparable to the required grade level.
