Assessment 1
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Coordination of an organization's open data assets, including establishing a data inventory and publishing metadata using IT best practices and tools; AND
- Support of data governance programs, including the development and implementation of formal policies and procedures; AND
- Demonstrated experience improving data stewardship and data quality; AND
- Experience interpreting and implementing various information management laws and associated guidance, such as the OPEN Government Data Act, DATA Act, Foundations for Evidence-Based Policy Making Act, Geospatial Data Act, Privacy Act, and Federal Records Act.

To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
