Applicants must be able to enter on duty at the requested date as a qualified and current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher (Advanced EMT, Paramedic, etc.). If you do not meet the requirement, you will be rated ineligible for the position.
National Wildfire Coordinating Group Helicopter Crewmember or Dept of Interior Helicopter Crewmember All-Hazard/Resource qualification (Selective Factor)

Applicants must have successfully completed National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) course S-271 Helicopter Crewmember and have a completed and signed task book for NWCG Helicopter Crewmember (HECM) or DOI Helicopter Crewmember All-Hazard/Resource (HECM All-Hazard/Resource) before entry on duty.
Mountaineering (Selective Factor)

Applicants must show a broad professional range of alpine mountaineering experience. While professionally employed, you must have conducted at least 10 climbs of peaks where the routes were composed of glaciated, rock, and ice terrain. You must clearly show these climbs in your resume. It is suggested that you submit an attachment to your resume with your climbs listed with the name of the peak, the employer, the route, the date, the terrain, and the difficulty of the climb.
