Install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot electronic instrumentation used to collect and/or transmit gage-height data from streamflow gaging stations.
10.
Use a variety of hydroacoustic techniques and instrumentation including Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) to measure discharge in streams, rivers, and other hydrologic environments. GS-08 ONLY
11.
Make surface-water discharge measurements during flood conditions utilizing current meter and weights or Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler equipment from bridges and cableways. GS-07 & 08 ONLY
12.
Maintain crest-stage gages at remote locations. GS-07 & 08 ONLY
13.
Make a wading surface-water discharge measurement using the midsection method with a flow velocity meter.
14.
Run routine levels at gaging stations to establish or check gage datum. GS-07 & 08 ONLY
15.
Assist in establishing vertical and horizontal datum using equipment such as optical or laser leveling devices.
16.
Measure field water-quality parameters such as pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen concentration in lakes, streams, and/or wells.
17.
Operate common construction tools such as chain saws, welders, skill saws, cutting torches, drill presses, etc.
