Make administrative arrangements for the survey such as sufficient proper supplies and equipment and approval of anticipated overtime.

Sight surveying instruments such as transits, level and alidades.

Use topographic maps to locate map identification numbering system, elevation and triangulation station identification, and scaling latitude and longitude.

Operate the following equipment: electronic distance measuring equipment, data collector equipment, global positioning system receiver equipment, and rod or prism pole equipment.

Experience with office computer software to complete work assignments.
15.
Abstract survey data obtained from survey plats, master title plats, survey index, quad maps and field notes to draw relationship diagrams.
16.
Gather and record survey data, line running, and distance and angle measurement activities.
17.
Collect coordinates by digitizing and operating interactive programs for computing the positions of corners from topographic maps.
18.
Use drafting tools such as a computer, plotter, digitizer, or equivalent to prepare graphics displays for use in planning survey data collection strategies.
19.
Review field notes, random lined diagrams, and computations to determine whether closures are within prescribed lines of accuracy.
20.
Operate four wheel drive vehicles off- road for recreation or work.
21.
Operate four wheel all- terrain vehicles (ATVs) in rugged terrain for recreation or work.
22.
Operate motor vehicles in inclement weather and over rugged terrain for recreation or work.
