Assists with forestry program management including: forest management inventory planning, forest product sale preparation, forest product sale administration, forest protection and forest development.

Conducts forest management inventories and develops forest management plans.

Determines forest inventory sampling method and design, collects forest and fuels inventory data, and performs statistical analysis.

Coordinates or prepares forest management plans, fire management plans, and integrated resource management plans.

Verifies land ownership status and legal descriptions for proposed harvest units and obtains landowner consent.

Designs timber sale layout including logging and transportation plans.

Researches current log markets, log selling values, and logging and transportation costs.
14.
Conducts timber valuations to determine stumpage rates and appraised values for marketable timber.

Prepare timber sale contracts and permits.

Prepare bid prospectuses, advertise timber, and facilitates bid openings.

Conducts pre-logging conference with purchaser to discuss contract and develop the logging plan.
18.
Calculates and collects advance deposits and payments due for the timber sale.

Maintain timber sale records, including payment records.

Complete or review timber sale inspection reports and initiate corrective or actions if necessary.

Implement a forest development program to maintain or enhance the future forest productivity.
