Assessment 1
Specialized experience for the GS-13 level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the candidate with particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Successful experience can be gained in the Federal service or its equivalent in state or local government or private sector organizations. Specialized experience includes the following:
- Assisting in preparing written materials, including briefing or issue papers, and memoranda for use by senior officials, including for the purpose of meetings, speeches, interviews, and testimony; AND
- Summarizing findings and research in written products of various types such as tables, charts, short summaries, or longer memos, presentations and reports; AND
- Assisting in preparing responses to Congressional, press or other public inquiries; AND
- Conducting research on a wide range of issues related to Domestic Finance such as, financial research, legal research, or regulatory and policy developments.
