5. Apply technical knowledge of agronomy, crop science, plant science, wildlife management, soil science, and other natural resource sciences to solve problems, develop alternatives, and integrate agronomic practices into a wide variety of conservation activities.

6. Analyze soil properties and characteristics used to identify potential or deficiencies and advise landowners and users on sound erosion control and drainage techniques.

7. Identify plants and plant communities, including horticultural crops, weeds, native grasses and forbs, and make recommendations on appropriate plants for conservation or restoration purposes.

8. Identify, collect, and analyze on-site data to inventory natural resources and their condition and determine suitability and capability of habitat for fish, wildlife, or plants.

9. Conduct soil testing to determine nutrient content and utilize results to develop fertilizer/manure application recommendations.
