1. You must meet the minimum basic educational and/or work experience requirements for professional auditing positions in the federal government. This includes:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in auditing or a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting.

OR

A combination of education and experience with at least four years of experience in performance auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
- A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), obtained through written examination; OR
- Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

2. To qualify for this position as a GS-14 you must meet the specialized experience requirements for this position with at least one (1) full year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent. This experience, as provided below, should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position.
