6. Must have at least 6 months experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use common hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments and make repetitive repairs. Must have basic knowledge of the type of work performed by the occupational series. Provide assistance to the journeyman by performing the simpler and routine duties of the trade.

7. Must have at least 12 months experience or training planning, manufacturing, and installing cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects that have easily constructed fastening. Experience cutting and forming by using basic hand and powered tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, breaks, and stakes. Experience assembling parts by seaming, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, spot-welding, or soldering. Experience demonstrating a basic understanding of using measuring instruments.

8. Must have at least 18 months experience or training in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams. Experience using more complicated shop tools and equipment. Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material and alloys. Experience demonstrating the use of more complicated mathematical calculations and complicated measuring instruments.

1. Knowledge of aircraft design and structure as well as testing procedures and prevention of metal corrosion. (limit characters)
2. Skilled in the use of various complicated tools and equipment. (limit characters)
3. Knowledge of metal strength characteristics (annealing, tempering and normalizing) in the selection of the proper materials for repair. (limit characters)
4. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot aircraft structural repair situations in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers. (limit characters)
5. Skill to align and balance component structures and air frame using precision measuring instruments and levels. (limit characters)
6. Ability to assist in training of drill status guard members and in maintenance of publication files of applicable technical orders, regulations, manuals and local directives. (limit characters)
