Collects, examines, interprets, and analyzes snow survey (SNOTEL) and related hydro-meteorological data.

Performs statistical analyses on data to assure the accuracy of the data and efficiency of the data collection network.

Assists in the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of shelter buildings, antenna towers, meteorological equipment towers and other related hydrologic sensors, and equipment.
8.
Assists staff in the maintenance of SNOTEL metadata database and procedures for obtaining metadata during normal field operations.
9.
Monitors site performance and data quality to assist in establishing maintenance work loads and setting priorities.
10.
Participates in the installation and maintenance of snow courses and SNOTEL sites within the Data Collection Office.
11.
Communicates information used to promote the conservation and preservation of water resources.
12.
Interpret and present hydrologic data in an unbiased format that can be understood by a broad spectrum of water users.
13.
Maintains working relationships with Federal, State, County, local agencies and water users.
14.
Exchanges data with other federal, state, and private groups.
15.
Assists with the preparation of reports describing research results, using illustrations, maps, appendices, and other information.
16.
Utilizes Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and programming software (e.g. Python) to develop and disseminate snow survey and water supply products to water users, the research community, other government entities, and the public.
