Do you have the ability to perform the duties of the work of a Pipefitter (WG-10) without more than normal supervision? Related experience includes: Safely and independently performing pipefitter work assignments; Reading and following blueprints and specifications; Estimating accurately the time and materials required to install, repair, or replace equipment or components; Soldering and brazing piping systems; Properly selecting and using tools, parts and materials to accomplish a task quickly, neatly and safely; and Using hand and power tools of the trade, i.e., pipe threader, sewer augers, acetylene torch, reciprocation saws, corded and battery-powered drills, pipe cutters, pipe wrench, hammer drills, and other common hand tools of the trade.

Reads and interprets blueprints, layout sketches, manufacturers' literature and specifications for sizing, estimating, installing, and repairing new or existing piping systems.
8.
Ability to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints, and to use shop mathematics to lie out angles, arcs, and circles.
9.
Plans and lays out the needed routing, placement, slant, slope and fall of systems.
10.
Ability to plan and lay out the installation, modification, and repair of various new and existing piping systems and equipment.
11.
Skill in the use of tools and equipment such as sliding squares, plumb bobs, star drills, grinders, and pipe wrenches.
12.
Determines and installs risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators in the combination needed to support the pressures of the systems and that ensure the proper operation of the systems.
13.
Traces and troubleshoots pipe lines, systems, and equipment to locate and repair leaks and trouble spots. Performs safety and preventive maintenance inspections of systems and equipment.
