1. Select the response below which best reflects how you meet the basic requirement for an Engineer position with the Federal Government (General Engineer GS-0801, Civil Engineer GS-0810, Environmental Engineer GS-0819, Mechanical Engineer GS-0830, or Electrical Engineer GS-0850).

I have successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in professional engineering from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum. B. I have successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in professional engineering that included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification)

C. I possess a current registration as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your current registration for verification).

D. I do not have a degree as described above in letter A or letter B, but I have passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination, and in addition, I have a combination of education in the field of general engineering and professional engineering experience which totals at least four years. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your EIT examination and your transcripts for verification)

E. I do not have a degree as described above in letter A or letter B, but I have completed at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences. This course work included differential and integral calculus, as well as courses in at least five of the seven areas listed in letter B above. In addition, I have professional engineering experience when combined with my education totals at least four years. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).

F. I have a Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology, or another scientific field directly related to engineering. In addition, I have at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. C. I have a Bachelor's or higher degree in architectural engineering, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in above in letter A. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.)

D. I have had at least 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of any college courses, I have had at least 5 years of such experience. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification if you have less than 5 years of the described experience.)

E. I do not possess the education and/or experience as described above.

3. Select the one statement that best describes the specialized experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (can be obtained in the public or private sector), reviewing and analyzing construction plans and specifications, quality control and assurance inspection and test reports or contractor prepared plans, procedures and schedules, payment requests, and correspondence in order to determine appropriate action.
