Assessment 1
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, which is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Working with information systems/network security, including deployment of defensive measures to detect, respond, and protect information, information systems, and networks from threats; AND
- Planning and managing IT Security audits and providing advice in areas such as: IT Security compliance, IT Security policy, procedure development, security threats, security technology, and best practices, including but not limited to implementing a Risk Management Framework (RMF) and managing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) efforts, Authorization to Operate (ATO), and evaluating security authorization packages to make recommendations for authorization; AND
- Experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) through the full system development lifecycle for IT system, such as Compliance and Vulnerability Management, Incident Handling & Response, Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), and Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) management.
