Thank you for your interest in this Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operator) position with Department of the Army. 1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your ability, level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Laborer (MVO) duties.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex manual laboring tasks associated with grounds and facilities maintenance activities. I am able to operate equipment such as high powered pressure washers, chain saws, jack hammers, compactors, heavy power mowers, power trimmers, power edgers, powered weed-eaters, large electric drills and related hand tools to perform grounds maintenance work. I am able to operate vehicles such as trucks, sedans and station wagons weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport bulky materials, and or passenger vehicles on and off the installation. I am able to lift or move loads over 50 pounds including running power mowers on grades or moving heavy loads of dirt, cement or asphalt pushing a wheelbarrow. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of manual laboring tasks associated with grounds and facilities maintenance activities. I am able to operate equipment such as power trimmers, power edgers, powered weed-eaters, large electric drills and related hand tools to perform grounds maintenance work. I am able to perform landscaping tasks using shovels, hand tampers, hoes, and rakes by digging ditches and trenches, filling holes with dirt and leveling bumps and low places. I am able to operate vehicles such as trucks, sedans and station wagons weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport bulky materials, and or passenger vehicles on and off the installation. I am able to clean and sanitize office spaces and facilities such as restrooms, picnic shelters, RV dump stations, pump houses and storage buildings, and park offices. I am able to lift or move loads over 50 pounds including running power mowers on grades or moving heavy loads of dirt, cement or asphalt pushing a wheelbarrow. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform basic and repetitive manual laboring tasks associated with grounds and facilities management. I am able to perform simple manual labor tasks such as cleaning office spaces and restrooms, and grounds maintenance tasks such as to keep lawns, picnic areas, playgrounds and/or trails neat and orderly. I am able to operate vehicles such as trucks, sedans and station wagons weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport bulky materials, and or passenger vehicles on and off the installation. I have the ability to operate lawn movers, weedeaters and the hand tools to perform grounds maintenance work. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple repair or maintenance work or I have received training on the use of basic hand tools.

E. I do not possess the abilities described above.
