Minimum Qualifications

Applies concepts of datums and coordinate systems accurately to create, edit, combine and display GPS and GIS data.

Utilizes ArcGIS, Arc GIS Pro, or similar software to create and edit spatial data from various sources, including on-screen digitizing and importing spatial data from other formats.
4.
Applies basic principles of map making and organizing spatial information in a visual-spatial way to communicate information.
5.
Inputs both routine and complex spatial and non-spatial digital data to draft format, field compilation, CAD or GIS.
6.
Performs necessary and proper verification and checking procedures to ensure the resultant database or drawing files are as free as possible from error.
7.
Checks data products, evaluate data accuracy, quality and spatial integrity, to produce data and information that meets user requirements.
8.
Utilizes GIS software tools to create GPS data dictionaries and field mapping methodologies.
9.
Performs backups as appropriate, purges unnecessary files, and ensures all files are organized and properly distributed for effective and efficient protection, access, and use.
10.
Utilizes GIS software tools to restructure and improve geodatabase structure and data management flow to increase efficacy and decrease processing time.
11.
Creates compliant metadata to Federal standards including the posting of geospatial data and its metadata to web-based data servers.
12.
Designs and develops web maps using web map services or other techniques.
13.
Trains others in the use of GPS units form Trimble, Garmin or other standard GPS manufacturers.
14.
Responds to Provide email responses to requests for data, metadata, and technical assistance.
15.
Assists non-GIS staff with data preparation and map creation.
16.
Verifies and/or establishes data site locations through on-site inspections.
17.
Operates mapping or survey grade GPS survey equipment in field surveys, planning projects and/or processing field data for export into GIS database.
18.
Interprets and analyzes aerial and satellite imagery, digitized and geo rectified historic maps, geologic and other environmental data, for multiple applications including spatial analysis or statistical interpolation.
19.
Operates GPS and other related survey equipment for navigation and site mapping.
20.
Builds and maintains relational databases within relational database management systems (RDMS) software and Esri geodatabases.
21.
Designs and develops spatial data inventories and cross linkages to ensure software and data structure compatibility.
