Conditions of Employment

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health & ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position has a requirement to lift up to 44 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Are you willing and able to meet the lifting requirement?

This is a seasonal position. Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work that typically last six months each year, but may vary depending upon the needs of management. Seasonal positions are permanent. Employees are placed in a non-duty, non-pay status in the off-season and recalled to duty the following work season. Seasonal employees are eligible to receive the same benefits offered to full-time employees. Are you available for seasonal employment?

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis. Are you willing and able to work on a rotating shift basis to meet work requirements?

This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training. Are you currently certified or willing and able to obtain and maintain CPR certification with AED training?

Organize a project for identifying and correcting natural resource degradation.

Conduct boundary surveillance using maps and compass, report results.
4.
Assist in developing and/or implementing specific land use plans for lake projects as a part of continued development or maintenance.

Perform surveillance of project boundaries using real estate acquisition maps, and standard survey and mapping techniques to locate and defend project boundaries.
6.
Perform surveillance of lake and watershed environments to monitor water quality and investigate sources of degradation.
7.
Adhere to accident prevention practices to ensure the safety of project visitors.
8.
Inspect recreation areas for safety hazards.
9.
Respond to emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire, boating accidents, protests, and other incidents.
10.
Explain Title 36 Park & Public Property regulations to promote safety, sanitation, resource protection, and fire prevention to visitors.
11.
Provide visitors and guests with useful information to include subjects such as environmental stewardship, natural resources, cultural resources, history, fish passage, recreation, hydropower, electricity, and/or navigation.

Develop information materials such as pamphlets, brochures, and flyers for the visitor centers.

Prepare and update interpretative programs to be shared with visitors and special groups comprised of broad ages and interests.
