Able to read, interpret, and follow product label instructions and State and Federal rules and regulations regarding pesticide safety and environmental protection.

Use written and verbal communication to understand supervisory instructions and to effectively coordinate with the supervisor, location personnel, cooperators, contractors, and other employees.

Operate, calibrate, and maintain farm equipment and serve as a resource regarding equipment capability over a range of operations, including equipment used to plant, control pests, fertilize, and harvest row and forage crops.
11.
Make recommendations regarding crop and variety selection and products used for weed, insect, and disease control and methods of control; and fertilizer and methods of application.
12.
Plans for and makes purchases for daily operations and searches for vendors, determines quantities needed, and coordinates delivery of consumables, including fuel, seed, fertilizer, pesticides, and other supplies.
13.
Prepare and apply fertilizer, pesticide, and herbicide solutions according to specific instructions and assure compliance with safety and hazardous waste disposal regulations
14.
Exercise precautions and follow safety guidelines and rules to operate combines, tractors, and implements safely, and maintain cleanliness and condition to be used safely.
15.
Independently operates tractors of different makes and models that range from 65 to 170 horsepower.
16.
Make mechanical and hydraulic connections between the towed or attached equipment and the tractor and makes equipment adjustments.
17.
Operate tractors, combines, and other heavy-duty equipment on level or rolling terrain in such areas as open fields, lawns, and along roadways
18.
Operate a field type tractor having four wheels and up to eight forward gears, steered with a conventional steering wheel.
