GS-06:
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
- Monitors patient for adverse reactions, recognizes abnormalities and brings them to the attention of the appropriate medical health care professionals.
- Records results and ensures that they are made a part of the electronic medical record.
- Assists with patient check in, including obtaining and recording demographic data, vital signs, height, weight, and screening for chief complaint, brief history and measurements for specific age groups.
- Collects, labels, and processes a variety of specimens.
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 9 semester hours of education. NOTE: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position.
