Do you posses experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
2.
Do you posses 18 months experience or training performing research, review, analysis and inspection tasks on the full scope of components, assemblies of ammunition and explosive items, in the receipt, issuance, demilitarization, and re-inspection, operation, and cleaning of weapons, and ammunitions. Knowledge of the ammunition as well as ammunition operations is required at the expert level. Assemblies and components are inspected, repaired, and issued to meet established rigid specifications and require adherence to close tolerances. Guidance material for most ammunition is complicated, requires interpretation and may require modification by the inspector.

Knowledge of various codes of federal regulations (Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA).

Ability to respond to unforeseen or emergency situation and be able to make immediate responses to emergency situations, determine the correct course of action to mitigate the problem.
5.
Knowledge of ammunition/explosives technical references, procedures and policies, materials handling equipment, and lifting gear, rail and truck characteristics/capabilities.
6.
Ability to interpret and apply load drawings technical inspections procedures, publications, specifications and technical drawings pertaining to ammunition/explosives.
7.
Ability to research, interpret and apply all technical information necessary to inspect each specific ammunition and explosive item, component and specialized packing material.
8.
Ability to read and comprehend technical orders, technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and drawings, as well as communicate orally and in writing to brief and provide training.
9.
Knowledge of the safety precautions and procedures necessary to be taken with the variety of A&E worked on.
10.
Knowledge of detonation and burning methods and procedures for the destruction of A&E.
11.
Knowledge of product specifications, standards, and associated requirements for preservation, packing, shipping and storage to ensure product quality, safety, and protection of the environment.
12.
Ability to recognize the various munitions and explosives so as to apply the proper procedure for inspecting.
13.
Ability to recognize weather and other conditions that affect explosive operations and to select the alternate procedures necessary under such conditions.
14.
Knowledge of operating procedures and safety regulations and procedures applicable to firing range activities.
15.
Skill in the operation of the full variety of machines and tools in operations.
16.
Skill in the maintenance and minor repair of machines, tools, and equipment used in ammunition maintenance.
