2. Education: Please select from one of the responses below to indicate how you meet the education requirement for the GS-180 Psychologist occupational series. (PLEASE NOTE that supporting documentation in the form of college transcripts must be submitted with your application).

A. I have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed.

B. I have a doctoral degree in any area of psychology and, in addition, successfully completed a respecialization program (including documentation of an approved internship completed as part of the respecialization program) meeting both of the following conditions: (a) The re-specialization program must be completed in an APA or a CPA accredited doctoral program; and, (b) the specialty in which the applicant is retrained must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed.

C. I have a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally accredited institution, with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature.

D. I was employed as a VHA Psychologist on February 7, 2018 and am still employed as such and meet the grandfathering provision.

E. I do not meet any of the criteria listed in this section (none of the above options apply to me).

3. Internship: Please select from one of the responses below that most accurately describes how you meet the internship requirement for the VA Psychologist position. NOTE: You must submit proof of meeting the internship requirement with your application packet.

A. I have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed and that is consistent with the assignment for which I am to be employed.

B. I have successfully completed a New VHA psychology internship program that is in the process of applying for APA accreditation that is acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement, provided that the program was sanctioned by the VHA Central Office Program Director for Psychology and the VHA Office of Academic Affiliations at the time I was an intern.

C. I completed my psychology internship at a VHA facility that offered a full-time, one-year pre-doctoral internship prior to PL 96-151 (pre-1979). NOTE: This is considered to be acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement.

D. I completed an internship that was not accredited by the APA or CPA at the time the program was completed however I am currently board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in a specialty area that is consistent with the assignment/position that is in this job announcement. (NOTE: Once board certified and hired as a VA Psychologist, it is required to maintain the board certification.)

E. Applicants who have a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature may fulfill this internship requirement by having the equivalent of a one-year supervised internship experience in a site specifically acceptable to the candidate?s doctoral program. If the internship experience is not noted on the applicant?s official transcript, the applicant must provide a statement from the doctoral program verifying that the equivalent of a one-year supervised internship experience was completed in a site acceptable to the doctoral program.

F. I was employed as a VHA Psychologist on February 7, 2018 and am still employed as such and meet the grandfathering provision.

G. I do not meet any of the criteria listed in this section (none of the above options apply to me).

4. Licensure: Do you hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia? Please ensure that you submit a copy.

B. No, but I meet all other eligibility requirements and am pending licensure. I understand that, if hired, this will be a temporary appointment as a graduate psychologist at the GS-11 or GS-12 grade level for a period not to exceed 2 years and must provide care only under the supervision of a psycholgoist who is licensed. Failure to obtain licensure during that period is justification for termination of the appointment.

C. No, I do not meet this requirement.

5. Board Certification: Persons hired to psychology positions in the VHA who completed an internship that was not accredited at the time the program was completed must be board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in a specialty area that is consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed. The board certificate must be current, and the applicant must abide by the certifying body's requirement for continuing education. If applicable, do you meet this requirement?
