2. Represents the organization at meetings and conferences, presents briefings and establishes/maintains effective work relationships at various command levels. Leads and/or participates in discussions, meetings, conferences, committees with DoD, AF, NGB and/or unit-level representatives related to current and projected IT projects which may require influencing or persuading other officials to accept and implement recommendations to use particular methods processes or procedures. Analyzes areas of concern, identifies errors in planning assumptions, identifies system interoperability disconnects and resolves conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and user representatives. Consults with installation officials, working groups, customers and other organizational personnel on IT project deployment concerns. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals for those projects. Maintains liaison with technical and professional organizations and industry to keep current on trends in technology. Prepares and presents briefings which outline problems and solutions and keep management aware of their role in adopting changing technology. Special projects and initiatives involve long-range planning which will enable the organization to meet future requirements therefore the incumbent must continually stay up to date with rapidly changing technology to be able to predict how management can prepare for the future. 3. Performs as a technical advisor to leaders or managers of IT systems. Designs training plans and leads conferences, workshops and task groups of user activities or assists higher headquarters trainers in presenting sessions to train users as required. Based upon study of performance data and suggestions from users, identifies training requirements and provides advanced training to users to ensure new and changing technology is understood and properly used. Reviews and provides commentary on proposed policies, directives, bulletins, training manuals and other written documentation. Continually reviews advancements in technology and market advancements to provide functional users with the latest information which affects their organization's use of IT. Responds to leaders or managers requests to review new off-the-shelf hardware and software that have potential to enhance IT use. Facilitates subject matter expert and stakeholder efforts to design and develop managed systems that meet current and future mission requirements. Defines documentation and testing requirements for cyberspace systems, prepares reports encompassing long and short range planning strategy recommendations, evaluates reports and prepares detailed responses by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research.
