ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF AN ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION

A WG-09 is expected to: 1) operate a crawler tractor, excavator, or motor grader to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications; 2) move earth on steep slopes, graded curves and shoulders, rocky or low lying soft/wet ground, hilly forests, and other surfaces with similar features; 3) on flat or rolling terrain, operate crawler tractor or motor grader in grading surfaces, compacting soils, and/or spreading surfacing materials; 4) operate equipment close to buildings, towers, trees, drop-offs, waterlines, etc.; 5) perform operator/preventative maintenance all equipment.
Duties of this position require the employee to obtain and maintain a valid Class A State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate various vehicles and equipment. This position is subject to physical examination and drug and alcohol testing requirements as established by the Department of Transportation (49 CFR 391.41 (b)(l) through (b)(13)).
