1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform the Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic tasks. I am skilled in overhauling, rebuilding, and major repair of systems such as the following: (1) diesel, gasoline, diesel electric, diesel hydraulic, and other types of internal combustion engines; (2) automatic and non-automatic transmissions; (3) heavy duty drive line systems; (4) hydraulic utility systems and controls. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic tasks. I am skilled in overhauling and repairing on a variety of marine plants, such as motorboats, survey boats, tugs, and 125-ton Floating Derrick crane. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform common Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic tasks. I can perform routine tasks involving the overhaul, maintenance, modification, and major repairs of gasoline and diesel powered heavy duty mobile industrial equipment, vehicles and floating plants. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple equipment maintenance tasks to include measuring, fitting, and installing components and in connecting, meshing, aligning, and adjusting components to assure effective operation of the complete systems or vehicle.

E. I do not possess the abilities described above.
