I have experience for at least one year at the GS-9 level or equivalent which may include the following. 1) Conducts targeted interdiction activities and inspections intended to expose lack of compliance with or illegal activity of U.S. and/or foreign laws, treaties and regulations. 2) Identify wildlife, their parts and products, and refer specimens requiring advanced identification techniques. 3) Perform specific risk assessments and analyze trade data and trends to develop criteria required to evaluate compliance with regulations and permits/licenses. 4) Communicate mission and objectives clearly by initiating analytical reports. 5) Work with other law enforcement partners in civil and criminal investigations into illegal wildlife trade and/or other violations of federal, state, tribal, and international laws.

B. I have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

C. I have a combination of education and experience that when combined equal at least 100 percent of the requirement to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of a master's degree, 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree, or LL.B or J.D. may be used to qualify.

This is a Pathways Recent Graduate position. You must have obtained, within the previous two years OR will be receiving no later than December 31, 2023, a qualifying associate's, bachelor's, master's, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution; OR a veteran that completed all the requirements for an academic course of study within the previous six years. Please select the one response that most clearly and accurately describes your eligibility.

Must possess a valid State Driver's license.

This position is designated as Critical Sensitive and requires compliance with background investigation requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance background investigation within the first year after appointment to the position and must be sustainable throughout the period of assignment to this position. Failure to obtain or maintain clearance status may result in termination or reassignment.

This position is subject to drug testing under the DOI Drug-free and Alcohol-free Workforce Plan (PB 17-15 issued 10/2017).

This position is subject to annual medical surveillance examinations as identified in the FWS Service Manual, 242 FW 4 (Medical Programs) and in the OLE Chief Directive CD-A13, Subj: Medical Surveillance and Medical Standards.

May be required to work shift work and/or perform 24-hour on-call duty.
