More specifically, this requirement involves experience applying generally accepted accounting principles, standards and applicable laws/regulations to resolve complex accounting discrepancies; researching billable exceptions to assure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies; and reviewing and evaluating financial systems for effectiveness of internal controls and integrity of the organization's financial information.
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. Examples of such experience include: preparation and review of Federal periodic financial statements and reports; formulating a variety of financial reports; recommending policies and procedures relevant to the accounting system; devising accounting structures and procedures to meet regulatory and legal requirements; reconciling cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts; correcting differences between subsidiary ledger balances and the control account balances in the general ledger; providing accounting information and guidance to program officials; and independently solving complex finance and accounting problems. Knowledge and experience with the use of Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) and Oracle is highly desirable.
