You should be able to backpack and hike up to 15 miles per day carrying packs weighing up to 40 pounds, and to possibly carry additional gear to complete work assignments and respond to search and rescue activities. You will be hiking over terrain that may be rugged and will likely experience inclement weather conditions. Applicants with previous backpacking experience will start work with suitable levels of fitness and experience to perform backcountry patrols during the short summer season. (limit characters)
