Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. Emergency Response Certification (Quality Ranking Factor)
Candidates who possess current Wilderness First Responder or higher level Emergency Medical Services (EMS) certification will be able to respond more effectively to treat medical emergencies in backcountry settings. Please select the response below that describes your qualifications in this area.

Stamina (Quality Ranking Factor)
These positions need to be able to perform meaningful work while living in a backcountry setting. You should be able to backpack and hike up to 15 miles per day carrying packs weighing up to 40 pounds, and to possibly carry additional gear to complete work assignments and respond to search and rescue activities. You will be hiking over terrain that may be rugged and will likely experience inclement weather conditions. Applicants with previous backpacking experience will start work with suitable levels of fitness and experience to perform backcountry patrols during the short summer season.
